Our Fabrics

More than just a fashion brand: Laoise Carey Studio garments are hand-crafted in Ireland using vintage, antique and reconstituted textiles. Materials for each collection are gathered from flea markets and vintage shops, then washed, cut and crafted into luxury heirloom pieces, to be worn and loved long into the future.

The majority of my collections are made from vintage fabrics such as curtains, bed spreads, tea towels, dressmaking remnants and antimacassars. I have scoured antique fairs and flea markets all around Ireland, London, Paris and Amsterdam, collecting long-lost textiles in the hopes of crafting a new future for them.

I also make use of deadstock fabrics, organic cottons and linens, and textile remnants from local Irish mills and designers. The fabrics used to create each garment are described in detail in every product listing, for full transparency.
I use ‘virgin’ textiles and notions as sparingly as possible. These include threads, zips, linings and fusible interfacing, which ensure that my upcycled garments can be finished to the highest possible standards, with durability and longevity.
