SUSTAINABILITY

OUR COMMITTMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY

01. Vintage Fabrics

One of the details that makes the Laoise Carey brand so unique is the use of vintage and antique textiles in every collection. Materials include vintage table linens, damask curtains, lace trims and buttons from grandmothers' button boxes. Items made using vintage textiles cannot be replicated, making every piece personal to the wearer.

02. Recycled Materials

In our collections, we recycle ex-designer deadstock, end-of-line and remnant materials in each collection, giving a new life to forgotten materials and making these special garments only one-of-a-few.

03. Irish Textiles

Irish textiles such as wool, tweed and linen also feature prominently in our collections. The production of these materials have a rich history on the island of Ireland which Laoise is passionate about supporting for future generations.

04. Eco-Friendly Fabrics

Natural and organic materials such as bamboo silk and organic cotton poplin supplement our collections in the form of linings, facings and slips. These fabrics compliment the other textiles in our collections by adding a luxurious finish and creating long-lasting garments, without compromising on sustainability.

05. Made in Ireland

Every garment is handcrafted in Co. Tipperary, Ireland by Laoise or her machinists.

06. Labels & Packaging

Laoise Carey Studio garment labels are made from natural, unbleached cotton. Swing tags are printed in Co. Offaly on sustainably sourced paper with eco-inks, using self-generated green energy.

Uncoated Kraft paper shipping bags and cardboard boxes are used for every online order, with recyclable tissue paper and a sprig of dried lavender, or two.

'Thank You' notes inside our online packages are written on paper which is handmade locally in Tipperary, from recycled egg cartons and used coffee cups, and coloured with plant dyes.
